{etsy} Mickey Mouse tie shirts

My friend Brooke has always been a supporter of my creative endeavors especially the children's clothing featured in my etsy store.  She came to me last month asking if I could create Mickey Mouse tie shirts for her two handsome boys.  I of course was thrilled to go shopping and look at all of the license prints available in cotton fabric.  To my surprise, there were quite a few Mickey Mouse prints available although most of them I would consider their look 'vintage' Mickey.  I was pleased to find the fabric featured above in the photos.  It coordinated so well with the navy shirts!  Come to find out, the shirts were such a hit that the handsome little boys and their daddy all have matching tie shirts now!

{gift giving} hot pink zebra tie shirt

Today I would like to share the shirt I made for my dear friend's daughter.  I mentioned the shirt in my weekend recap post and promised to share the final product.  I initially began making tie onesies for my little love and then started to sell them in my etsy.com store.

My friend knew that I made and sold tie onesies and inquired if I had considered making them for older children.  Her daughter had purchased a shirt with a tie on it from a retail store and unfortunately grew out of it and had to pass it down to her sister.  My friend had been on a search for a new tie shirt in her daughter's size but was unsuccessful.  When we were invited to the birthday party of my friend's daughter, the idea of the tie shirt resurfaced.  I created a tie from black and hot pink zebra print cuddle cotton fabric and placed it on a black long-sleeved shirt.  I created a different style tie than the style featured on the onesies. The new look is a loose-fitted tie hanging on a slant from the collar. This shirt totally fits the style of my friend's daughter and I was so excited to give it to her as a gift for her 10th birthday!

a beautiful fall day!

What a beautiful sunny fall day in Michigan!  Okay, so the weather was only 43degrees at 10am...but it looks so beautiful from inside the house!  I am just in awe, this fall especially, of the outstanding handiwork of God's beautiful creation.  The tree leaves are so breathtaking; the rich reds and oranges! I love it!  I love it so much that I created the tile {documented in the photos above} for my etsy store.  I'd be honored to have you visit my etsy.com store and check out my creations! {etsy} burp clothes

A dear friend of mine contacted me this week to see if I would be willing to make her some burp clothes to give as a gift to a family member.  I made them today during nap time and I must say it felt good to be back at the sewing machine!  Making the burp clothes also reminded me of the first few months with our little love.  What precious memories!

I currently have removed the listing of burp clothes from my etsy store but am considering renewing the listing following this interest from my friend.  Burp clothes are a wonderful gift and definitely an item that new mommas use on a daily basis.  Look for them in my store again soon!  If you ever have a need for a gift or a crafty idea I can assist with, please feel free to contact me and I'd love to make your dream reality!

Cookie Monster

I am excited to share my latest birthday shirt creations with you. A friend contacted me hoping I would make a shirt for her son's 1st birthday party as well as a 'big brother' shirt for the party day for her older son.  I of course was thrilled to be given the opportunity!  The theme of the party is Cookie Monster.  I just love how these shirts came together and they look better than what I even imagined!  Thank you, Brooke, for trusting my design and workmanship!
