{Friday Feature} Mojo Monday 356 card sketch

Happy Friday!!

Ah, papercrafting!  I have been spending my "momma time" aka little love's nap time, to create a few cards.  Today I am featuring a card I created specifically for my dear friend, Jade, who happens to adore the color green.  My card layout inspiration came from the blog Mojo Monday which provides a layout challenge each week.

And just in case the photos above were not enough to fully capture the details of the card, you can view the photos below that were photographed in direct sun therefore they have significant shadows on them. Needless to say, this card has been documented well!

{Friday Feature} Thank you card

My friend, Meagan, has a little cookie business and was gracious enough to make and deliver these tasty treats to enjoy with our family over the 4th of July weekend.  Let's be honest, they were so good they only lasted hours, not days in our house!

I wanted to send a quick little thank you note to Meagan to express my appreciation for her kindness.  My card layout inspiration came from the blog Mojo Monday which provides a layout challenge each week.

Using the sketch provided, I created the following 4th of July themed thank you card:

 

I love the final results of this card! The simple shapes were quick to assemble and the baker's twine gives the card added dimension.  I added the word "thanks" using white letter stickers and cut the red and blue stars from scrap cardstock. Quick and cute are always a win for me!

{MOJO Monday} #281

Hello friends!
Happy Tuesday!

We had a very quick trip to our home state this past weekend for me to surprise a friend at her bridal shower as well as have a family birthday party for our little love at my sister's house. I was excited to have a celebration for him with family on his actual birthday. I am going to feature his party in some upcoming posts so stay tuned!  In the meantime, I am trying to adjust to the reality that I have a 2-year-old!

Today I wanted to feature the blog Mojo Monday which sponsors card sketch challenges each week.  Last month I was inspired to participate in the sketch challenge when making a thank you note for some friends who had us to their home to go sledding on their property.

The final product turned out better than I had envision and I think it is one of my favorite cards I've made!

Now that my blog is up and functioning, I am excited to participate in some crafting challenges again!  My first crafting love was friendship bracelets with scrapbooking/papercrafting coming in as a strong second.  Although I do more decor projects than papercrafting at this season of life, I will always love creating with paper. mojo monday is a website devoted to posting challenge card sketches each Monday and offering the opportunity to link up your card for others to view and be inspired.  They also offer prizes during the first challenge of each month; which happens to be this week!

Although  many are starting to make Christmas holiday cards, my heart still belongs to fall and the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.  Autumn blessings was very fun to make.  The printed paper is actually from the Target dollar bin and all of the solid colors are from the Core'dination line.  The brown leaves under the owl were cut on the Cricut using the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge. The tree and owl were designed and hand-cut by yours truely.  The tree was also machine sewn.  Hope you enjoy the card!  Many blessings to you!
